This is a lightly used JVC DLA-X500 home theater projector in fully functional, original condition. A fresh lamp has just been installed, so you are starting with a clean slate on brightness. It uses JVC’s 6th-generation 0.7-inch Full HD D-ILA panels with e-shift3 technology to project a 3840 x 2160 image on screen[reference:0]. Built purely for dark-room cinema, it delivers the kind of deep, inky blacks and high native contrast that D-ILA is known for.
It is important to know what this projector is—and what it isn’t. The DLA-X500 is a reference-grade 1080p projector with 4K e-shift, not a native 4K projector. It accepts 4K signals via its dual HDMI inputs, but it does not support HDCP 2.2 or HEVC and is therefore not compatible with modern 4K UHD Blu-ray players or 4K streaming devices. It is also not suitable for gaming—input lag was measured around 130ms. If you are looking for a plug-and-play 4K HDR display, this is not the right machine. If you want breathtaking cinematic contrast with film-like motion in a light-controlled room, it excels at exactly that.
